Mining Blue Quartz is very challenging due to its association with other minerals and specific geological environments.  Blue Quartz only form in very specific geological settings—usually in high-grade metamorphic rocks or granitic pegmatites. These environments are less common, and not all of them contain the right minerals to produce Blue Quartz making it one of the rarest blue stones to find.  Blue Quartz is one of nature's rarest colors in gemstones because it typically requires specific trace elements like titanium, iron, copper, or cobalt within the crystal structure.  While Quartz itself is a common mineral, the blue color in Blue Quartz is usually caused by inclusions of other minerals within the quartz, making it less common to find naturally. Some blue quartz on the market might be dyed or treated, but natural Blue Quartz hardly exist and is considered very very rare and a prized gemstone.
