Jet is a semi-precious gemstone and is a plant-based mineraloid, meaning it's mineral-like. It's also extremely an extremely rare organic gemstone alongside amber, pearl, and coral.  Jet forms from wood decomposition and is very light weight.  Jet comes from fossilized wood of trees that died millions of years ago making this stone a true piece of history. Jet can act as a purifier, attempting to draw and dispel any unwanted energy while at the same time ushering in positivity. The Romans believed it would protect them from evil entities. Jet is considered a stone of luck.
