Multiple shades of green colors throughout this gemstone.  The name diopside is of Greek origin and consists of two words: ‘dis’ for double and ‘opse’ meaning face. The stone was dubbed ‘two-faced’ for a reason – the range of its colors is extensive and very unique making it a rare gemstone to have.  It means double appearance, which also refers to the way that the gemstones prism is orientated.  Diopside is mined in the mountains of Siberia, Russia near diamond bearing kimberlite pipes.  Diopside is a wonderful healer for those who have held back their tears for too long, helping them to cry and release their feelings. It provides a sense of empowerment and helps one to recognise the strength within themselves. Diopside expands love on every level, promoting emotional well being and the ability to love oneself and others, as well as to receive love.  It is an empowering stone that is particularly helpful in bringing out and balancing the feminine side, whilst also being helpful for menopausal symptoms.
