Blue Pietersite is extremely rare, and the rarest color of Pietersite.  There is only one primary source in Namibia, Africa where it was originally discovered, with the most notable deposits found in the Kunene region, particularly around the town of Outjo that actively produce high-grade material for Blue Pietersite.  The very limited supply and unique appearance make this gemstone highly valuable.  Blue Pietersite is a type of quartz that contains inclusions of blue crocidolite which creates the blue color and characteristic chatoyancy making it extremely rare.  Blue Pietersite is a protective gemstone helping to guard against negative energies and influences.
